Clinical paperwork runs on its own clock
Underneath the coursework sits a second job made entirely of documents. Site agreements need signatures from people who are busy. Hours need logging in the format your program insists on. Evaluations need chasing from a preceptor who is mid-shift. None of it is difficult and all of it is time you do not have.

Care plans and SOAP notes are technical documents
Both are marked on whether the reasoning survives inspection, not on whether the writing is pleasant. A SOAP note fails at the assessment line when the plan does not follow from what was actually found. A care plan fails when an intervention has no rationale behind it or a goal is written so vaguely that nobody could evaluate it on a shift.

I lost two weeks to extra shifts. Can I recover?
Usually, but the order matters and guessing it wrong wastes the little time left. Send your gradebook with the course: the specialist reading it works out which remaining items still carry enough weight to change the outcome, then rebuilds around those rather than trying to reconstruct everything you missed. Who writes clinical documentation?
Nurses, always, prepared at MSN or DNP level and in several cases still practising. Care plans and SOAP notes are judged on whether the clinical reasoning holds together, so the joints between assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation are where marks are won or lost. That's not something a strong general writer can fake convincingly.
Can you log my clinical hours?
The record gets maintained in whatever format your program insists on, and the signatures behind it get chased, on top of finding you a site and getting the agreement executed. Entering hours you didn't work is refused at any price. Those hours are the entire point of a rotation, and inventing them costs degrees and licences rather than marks.
Can I buy just one week?
Yes, and it's the most sensible way to use this in an accelerated program. Take the week you're on nights, or the fortnight a family situation is eating everything, and stop after it. There's no minimum, no notice period and no conversation about why. Most people order one week first and decide from there.
